Can a Ceramic or Graphene Coating Protect Car Trim?

One of the most interesting observations we’ve made is that coatings bond to surfaces differently. Before we talk about coating on the trim pieces, we need to understand that traditional ceramic coatings are made from Silicon Dioxide or Silicon Carbide based substrates while Graphene coatings, as the name implies, are made using Graphene.

From our work with countless cars we’ve noticed that out of all the coatings, graphene based coatings seem to last longer than other substrates. Normally, trim coatings are temporary and last close to a year or less. However, the above picture shows a truck that got a 5 year graphene coating but as you can see, the trim is still beading after nearly a year of installation. Another important consideration is that the truck is usually parked under the trees and the open by the customer.

In a nutshell, coatings can bond to car trim and protect them but our current graphene based coatings last the longest. We continue to evolve as the technology evolves and considering the rising cost of new and old vehicles, getting your car coated is hands down the best decision you can make for your second most expensive asset.
